Teaching & Learning

Year 8

The aims of the Year 8 Careers Programme

Making Option Choices in Year 8 for Year 9

In bringing the options process forward by one year, we aim to ensure students are able to spend more time studying subjects they enjoy & provide more time for students to fully develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to reach their full potential in the GCSE/BTEC subject areas.

  • Parents and students attend Future options evening where the CEIAG Manager is available to support decision making
  • Students are supported to recognise skills and qualities they need in life to be successful through emphasis on transferable skills.
  • Students explore pathways by using the subject, careers Library Uni -Frog online tool.
  • Students follow up on STEM activities provided by STEM point (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)
