Geography
The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it.
Genesis 2:15
curriculum intent |
Our primary objective in the Geography Department at Cardinal Newman School is to get students enthused and engaged about studying the physical and human environment in which they live. We encourage our students to acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to critically think about contemporary issues and to be good custodians of the planet. There is a wide skill set in Geography which includes critical thinking, discussion, decision-making, research and enquiry, data presentation, literacy and numeracy. Our aim is to use the Geography curriculum to provide our students with transferable skills that will fully equip them for further study and for the modern employment market.
